Hi,
My Vonage line works fine when I connect the adaptor directly to my phone base (actually through my HP All-in-One then to the base). The base is a Panasonic KX-TG5320 5.8Ghz. In other rooms, I have additional headsets that do not plug to a phone line as they all connect through the base wirelessly.
In another room I have my DirecTV DVR, which I want to connect to the phone line. What I did is to plug the Adaptor (through my HP) directly to the phone jack and I noticed all of the Phone jacks get the Vonage signal, including my DirecTV. DirecTV connects fine and even displays Caller ID when people call, however, I noticed that my phone actually rings 3 or 4 rings later and none of the Panasonics (4 including the one with the base) can't display the caller ID. By the time I hear the first ring, the caller had already waited for 3 or 4 rings.
So as of now, I connect my phone base directly to the Vonage adaptor (except for the HP pass-through) and whenever I want to connect to the DVR service I disconnect the phone but connect the Adaptor to the wall jack in order for DirecTV to connect from another room.
Any thoughts on how to make this work without having to switch back and forth every time I want DirecTV to connect?
Thanks in advanced. |
